The question on everyone's lips, Does the technology of 2015 match the technological promises of a fictional cult classic?

Let's start with Hoverboards...surely reality has failed here? No. No it hasn't. I'm not talking some made papermache project, I'm being serious here. There is such a thing as a hoverboard. And there is a youtube video of Tony Hawk riding it! Yeah Tony Hawk! Insert video clip...
Yeah this is a real prototype. So not easily available on the general market but a reality nonetheless.
Flying Cars?
Now this isn't as convincing but there is such a thing. The AeroMobil 3.0. I mean it is a real flying car but I can't see myself going to do the weekly food shop in it. It does look like a car had an affair with a plane and this was the offspring. I may not be chomping at the bit to get one but it does exist. It's very different to the BTTF2 model.
Again a prototype so not actually available, and totally different. But BTTF2 said there would be flying cars and there is.
These were the two big predictions from the film and although they only exist as prototypes, they DO exist. I think what is important here, is that not only do they exist, but there is also a wealth of other impressive techno-gadgets that have been developed in our lifetime that were not even predicted! Ipods, Google Glass & the electric car! And that's just to name a few. I think it's marvellous how far technology has come, and how quickly it's changing! I don't want to sound ridiculously old but I remember sharing 1 computer between 30 students at primary school and I'm only 24.
What do you think? Were they right? Comment below and tell me what you think!
